SET Flame Scanners And Their Efficiency
Flame scanners produced by Sepanta Electronic Tabarestan (SET) have proven to be more effective than reputable brands such as BFI, Durag, and LAMTEK from Germany, ABB, Honeywell, and Fireye from the USA, Hamworthy from the UK, and PILLARD from France, so have been installed in The South Pars Refineries. In honor of this significant achievement, we conducted an interview with Engineer Mohsen Golshani, the market development manager of this company, to discuss the services and products of this successful knowledge-based enterprise.
What Advantages Do SET Flame Scanners Offer Over Foreign Models?
Quality stands as the foremost advantage of our products and serves as a pivotal differentiator from competing foreign brands. Through successful replacements of various models of flame detection systems with SET’s offerings, our clients consistently report on the longevity and reliability of SET flame detectors. Notably, our scanners boast a reduced incidence of false triggers during installation, minimizing the risk of misidentifying flames in comparison to prominent foreign brands like PILLARD. This enhanced accuracy translates to fewer erroneous shutdown commands to fuel valves, crucially averting potential disruptions in refinery operations.
The established reputation of SET products among our clients is exemplified through instances where instrumentation specialists within the power industry have come to recognize the French brand PILLARD for its frequent failures and subsequent need for replacements. Following the successful installation of SET’s flame sensors at a national power plant in 2020, the resultant high satisfaction levels prompted management to proactively replace all existing PILLARD flame detectors with our reliable SAx200 models.
Moreover, our warranty and after-sales service offerings provide unparalleled reassurance to clients, effectively addressing concerns that often arise with products imported into Iran lacking adequate support. Sepanta Electronic’s robust maintenance capabilities, coupled with unwavering confidence in the quality of our flame detectors, underpin our commitment to customer satisfaction. Specifically, we provide an extensive 18-month warranty on all products, further bolstered by a guarantee of repair services for up to 10 years, ensuring sustained operational excellence and peace of mind for our valued clients.
Please Tell Us About the Various Products Offered by Sepanta Electronic
Sepanta Electronic provides products across three categories for various industries:
- Two-Piece series group (Scanner and Amplifier Card) Series AGD
- Compact Series group SAx
- UV Lamp series group – SUT100
Two-Pieces detection system -AGD01:
In situations where operators face challenges accessing the flame due to high heat or excessive vibration, or when older turbines and boilers require two-piece models, this type of products is used. In this configuration, the sensor unit is separated from the monitoring unit. While the sensor unit is mounted on the chamber or boiler, the operator can monitor the system from the control room using the monitoring unit. Many gas turbines or steam turbines utilize two-piece flame scanning systems and our products with AGd01 code (AGD01-TIy, AGD01-Tix, AGD01-DU) are in this group.
Compact detection system – Sax-200:
The integrated design of this group are the modern standard that new systems utilize and, in terms of efficiency and functionality, they are comparable to two-piece flame detection systems. However, they are favored for two main reasons. Firstly, they are easier to operate. Secondly, the trend in electronic systems is moving towards integration. As a result, many industries that previously used two-piece systems have opted to replace them with Compact design group.
UV Lamp detection system – SUT100
The two previous models of flame scanners introduced so far have used semiconductor sensors for flame detection. However, the SUT100 flame detectors utilize lamp-type flame detection sensors. The advantage of lamp-type flame detectors is their higher heat tolerance. The AGD and SAx flame detectors can withstand maximum temperatures of 70 or 85 degrees Celsius, while the SUT100 model can operate at temperatures up to 125 degrees Celsius without a cooling system and function optimally at temperatures of up to 175 degrees Celsius with a cooling system. This thermal advantage is particularly significant for industries dealing with high temperatures. For example, all General Electric (GE) turbines installed in Iran use this model of flame detector.
